Hasan Basarir, PhD, is a Senior Director of Health Economics at RTI-HS. He has more than 15 years of experience in conducting economic analyses in health care and extensive experience in decision-analytic modeling, patient-reported outcomes and statistical analysis. Dr. Basarir has been involved in health technology assessment submissions in both the public and private sectors and has served as a member of an Evidence Review Group for NICE in the UK. He has worked in therapeutic areas including diabetes, dermatology (atopic dermatitis, hidradenitis suppurativa, lupus, psoriasis), oncology (non-small cell lung cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, multiple myeloma), neovascular age-related macular degeneration, cluster headache, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, ulcerative colitis, asthma, endometriosis and radiology. Dr. Basarir is an Associate Editor of IJTAHC and a member of ISPOR and HTAi. He acted as the Vice Chair of a Diabetes UK research steering group for 6 years. He has published his work extensively in some of the other leading journals in the field, including The BMJ, The Lancet, Medical Decision Making, Value in Health, and PharmacoEconomics. He also acts as a reviewer for academic journals, and the health technology assessment submissions for the NIHR in the UK.
