Catherine Siersma, PMP, is a Director, Project Management in Project and Proposal Operations at RTI-HS, and is certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project Management Professional (PMP). Ms. Siersma has 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and 20 years of experience as a project manager. Her results-oriented, client-focused approach to project leadership includes strategic planning, scope management, financial management, process development, proposal development, and resource allocation. She supports the day-to-day functions of project teams and has managed large, complex projects with multiple tasks and multi-national teams. These responsibilities include timeline, resource and budget management, vendor and subcontractor management, and quality review processes.
In addition to her day-to-day project-focused responsibilities, Ms. Siersma develops material for and co-leadsproject management-focused training for all staff in Health Solutions and leads a process improvement team to solve common issues across projects.
Prior to joining RTI-HS, Ms. Siersma was a Project Manager and Scientist at Pfizer, where she was responsible for maintaining project plans, templates, and departmental resource data, and acting as a liaison between scientists and project management. In her scientist role, she performed pharmacokinetic studies in animals and in vitro metabolism studies. Prior to Pfizer, her work focused primarily on pharmacokinetic and oral absorption studies, with an emphasis on animal use regulations, resulting in a strong knowledge of National Institutes of Health and US Department of Agriculture guidelines.
