Ashwathi Puravankara Menon, PhD, is a Senior Medical Affairs Lead at RTI-HS. Dr. Menon previously worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a global medical advisor, developing medical education portfolios for engaging healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and business partner networks. She has coordinated international product launches and conferences and provided support for regulatory submissions.
Dr. Menon is a former Marie Curie Fellow and a seasoned expert in cancer immunotherapy and translational oncology/haematology with more than 8 years of research experience. She has lead drug development pipelines for RNA therapeutics (Aptamers), CD3 Bispecifics, T-cell–based therapies (CARs, TCR T-cells, and adoptive T -cell therapies), and personalised vaccines for a wide variety of cancers.
She has also worked in the medical communications sector, developing medical educational materials for all types of audiences and is an accomplished medical writer, science podcaster, and illustrator. She also has experience in the fields of psychiatry/neuroscience (schizophrenia), cardiovascular, and respiratory diseases.
As a scientist, a medical communicator, and a collaborative leader, she hopes to translate complex scientific concepts from laboratories to hospitals to the community as a whole; overcoming social, economic, and cultural differences to make healthcare inclusive, accessible, and affordable for all.
