Josephine (Jo) Mauskopf, PhD, MHA, Vice President of Health Economics at RTI Health Solutions, has been appointed as a Distinguished Fellow at RTI International. Individuals in this program have had a significant impact on the institute and society and are recognized internationally for their scientific achievements.
Dr. Mauskopf has extensive experience implementing economic evaluation programs for drugs or vaccines for bacterial infections, viral infections, psychiatric illness, and neurologic diseases. She has also performed many burden of illness studies and strategic literature reviews that have been published in peer-reviewed journals. She was Editor-in-Chief of the journal Value in Health for eight years and was co-chair of two ISPOR Task Forces; one to develop guidelines for budget impact analysis and the other to develop guidelines for the economic evaluation of vaccination programs.
As a highly-respected member of the The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR), Dr. Mauskopf was the recipient of the ISPOR award for Excellence in Application of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research in 2006, an ISPOR Avedis Donabedian Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013, and in 2019 she received the ISPOR Marilyn Dix Smith Leadership Award.
In her new position as a Distinguished Fellow, Dr. Mauskopf is looking forward to using her wealth of knowledge and understanding of healthcare services to provide mentorship to the next generation of researchers in RTI-HS as they build exciting and meaningful careers at RTI International.
