Delphi Panels, originally developed by The RAND Corporation in the 1950s, have recently been used by health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) professionals in situations where unanticipated questions arise, and information is needed quickly. This methodology is beneficial when real-world evidence may not be available or easily assembled; or in situations where there a lack of expert consensus regarding definitions, health care resource utilization (HCRU), or diagnostic or treatment guidelines. Delphi Panels provide actionable HEOR insights without requiring the lengthy timeline of some traditional study methodologies.
